Dr. Rodney Bowman
Bro. Rodney has been serving Texas churches all 51 years of his ministry. He earned his B.A. at Dallas Baptist University, his Master of Divinity at Luther Rice Seminary, and, his Doctor of Ministry from Luther Rice Seminar. His longest tenured churches were: over 25 years at First Baptist Angleton where he led the start up of Angleton Christian School, a growing campus of over 350 students K-4 through 12th grade. He also served 11 years at Waller Baptist Church.
Rodney’s wife is Dr. Joan Bowman, a Professor at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, and Central Christian College in Kansas. Their family includes three beautiful daughters, each with supportive husbands, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Rodney and Joan are both graduates of Lancaster High School – they are back home!
Bro. Rodney’s desire is to see the church family grow spiritually, numerically, and financially, while helping each person discover their purpose and fulfill it to the best of their ability and to the glory of God!
Our Minister of Music
Ray grew up in Alabama and graduated from Jacksonville State University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Linda, have a daughter, Candice, who is married and lives in Louisiana. Linda is a private voice teacher, a staff accompanist, and a church organist. Ray has served Baptist churches in 5 states. He is a member of The CenturyMen and The Singing Men of Texas (North Central). Ray directs the FBC Worship Choir and the Senior Serenaders’ Choir. He has been our Minister of Music since July 2009.
